Owner/Artistic Director/Ballet, Modern, Tap Teacher/Choreographer/Team Coach/former Professional Dancer
Cathy Zeysing is the owner and artistic director of Cathy’s Creative Dance School. She holds Bachelor degrees in Elementary and Secondary Education, English, Reading and Dance from the University of Central Missouri and University of Missouri Conservatory of Music & Dance under the direction of Catherine Plavcan and the late Leni Wylliams and holds a Master’s Degree in Creative Arts with an emphasis in dance from Lesley University Cambridge, Massachusetts. Miss Cathy danced professionally for the Ad Club of Kansas City and the Kansas City Kings Professional Basketball Organization, was a member of University of Central Missouri Modern Dance Company and studied under Kansas City native tap master, Billie Mahoney. Mrs. Zeysing is a certified teacher of the Cecchetti Ballet Council where she attended Cecchetti Teacher’s Training School, Hope College, Michigan. In addition, she is a certified member of Dance Masters of America, attended Dance Teacher Training School at Kent State University, serves on the Board of Directors of Dance Masters of America as a National Delegate and is a National Examiner for the organization. Currently Miss Cathy is the Vice President of Heart of America, Chapter #28 of Dance Masters of America. She is Kindermusik certified to teach preschool and elementary students. Miss Cathy is a retired elementary and secondary teacher serving over three decades in the Blue Springs and Independence School Districts and was the former dance team coach for the Blue Springs High School Dance Team and an assistant to Doug Watts former director of the Blue Springs High School Marching Band. She is a member of Mid America Tumbling Society and is a MATS Team coach. Miss Cathy is the director of the national award winning competition team Cathy’s Show Troupe, and serves as a choreographer and team coach.
