Cathy Zeysing
Owner / Artistic Director of Cathy’s Creative Dance School / Ballet, Modern, Tap, Creative Arts Teacher / Professional Choreographer / Show Troupe and M.A.T.S. Coach
Cathy Zeysing is the owner and artistic director of Cathy’s Creative Dance School and has served the Independence Community as a dance teacher for more than 40 years.  She holds Bachelor degrees in Elementary and Secondary Education, English, Reading and Dance from the University of Central Missouri and the University of Missouri Conservatory of Music and Dance under the direction of Catherine Plavcan and the late Leni Wylliams. Miss Zeysing holds a Master Degree in Creative Arts, Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley University, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Miss Cathy danced professionally for the Ad Club of Kansas City and the Kansas City Kings Professional Basketball Organization, was a member of the University of Central Missouri Modern Dance Company and studied under Kansas City native tap master, Billie Mahoney. She is a certified teacher of the Cecchetti Ballet Council where she attended Cecchetti Ballet Teachers Training School, Hope College, Michigan.  In addition, Miss Cathy is a member of Dance Masters of America (DMA) a nationally accredited dance teacher’s organization whose members are certified by testing to teach, and attended DMA Dance Teacher Training School, Kent State University, Kent, Ohio. Miss Zeysing has served on the Board of Directors of DMA as a National Delegate and is a National Examiner for the organization. She is a member of the Mid America Tumbling Association (MATS) and is Kindermusik certified. Miss Cathy is currently the team choreographer and coach for Cathy’s Creative Dance company dance teams and MATS acrobatic tumbling teams.  Mrs. Zeysing taught school for more than 35 years in the Blue Springs and Independence School Districts recently retiring from Independence.
